Modesty on the Supreme Court
With John G. Roberts most likely to be the newest member of the Supreme Court, I was really looking forward to the new edition of America by Jon Stewart. You know, the page with the naked Justices? Then there's always that intriguing and haunting thought in the back of your head, of what exactly they are wearing under those black robes. And maybe an occasional dissenting opinion of his would take the form of a well-timed mooning.
All that certainly would turn my attention towards our legal system and maybe in the end I'd learn a thing or two about the Constitution and how the Supreme Court operates.
But when I read this, I was dumbfounded.
In his first written response to questions from the lawmakers who will review his nomination to the Supreme Court, Judge John G. Roberts Jr. told the Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday that judges must possess "a degree of modesty and humility"...
Modesty and humility!!?
Can you say bor-ing?

Yes, but have you ever seen Scalia moon Ginsburg? And if Scalia did it, then Thomas would have to do it too.
That would be the so cool.
