When I'm Governor....

...and when I'm Governor of Kansas, there will none of that Intelligent Design nonsense taught in public schools.

Debbie and I were pages in Topeka, KS back in the 80's when the Democrats were in charge. I'm the one seated, with that gubernatorial look on my face dreaming of a more progressive Kansas.

hehe, BTW, the current governor of Kansas Kathleen Sebelius is a Democrat. As far as I know she stayed out of the intelligent design embarrassment, but I don't follow Kansas politics much any more.

My mistake Kathleen Sebelius has taken a strong stand opposing the recent silliness:

"This is just the latest in a series of troubling decisions by the Board of Education. If we’re going to continue to bring high-tech jobs to Kansas and move our state forward, we need to strengthen science standards, not weaken them. Stronger public schools ought to be the mission of the Board of Education, and it’s time they got down to the real business of strengthening Kansas schools."

Gosh, it's nice to see some reality-based policy positions back there in Kansas. Maybe it's the beginning of a trend.

I was going to go rob a liquor store, but I've now decided against it just in case I have to vote for you in the future.

If you truely wanted to save Kansas Polly, you should not try to go back as merely the governor. You could be The Great Spaghetti Monster's come to enlighten the closed minds of tight assed people.
