Why does Pat Robertson hate America?

Now, I'm all about free speech and everyone has a right to their opinion and all that good stuff, but when Pat Robertson says this malarky on national television

Federal judges are a more serious threat to America than Al Qaeda and the Sept. 11 terrorists, the Rev. Pat Robertson claimed yesterday.
"Over 100 years, I think the gradual erosion of the consensus that's held our country together is probably more serious than a few bearded terrorists who fly into buildings," Robertson said on ABC's "This Week with George Stephanopoulos."

"I think we have controlled Al Qaeda," the 700 Club host said, but warned of "erosion at home" and said judges were creating a "tyranny of oligarchy."

Confronted by Stephanopoulos on his claims that an out-of-control liberal judiciary is the worst threat America has faced in 400 years - worse than Nazi Germany, Japan and the Civil War - Robertson didn't back down.

"Yes, I really believe that," he said. "I think they are destroying the fabric that holds our nation together."

and gets no flack, but when Ward Churchill says this:

In the essay, Churchill advanced the provocative thesis that the amoral money-changers who worked at the World Trade Center, the materialistic purveyors of third-world exploitation and genocide--or "little Eichmanns," in his signature formulation--essentially got what was coming to America after years of military aggression and unjust foreign policy. It wasn't some senseless tragedy, but a natural plot progression. We can delude ourselves by boo-hooing and wearing Stars and Stripes lapel pins, but the big karmic wheel keeps on turnin'

they review his tenure at the University of Colorado, and consider dismissing him.

Each man is belittling the 9/11 attacks. Churchill is blaming U.S. foreign policy for the attacks, which to me seems like a valid argument. I mean, why do they hate us so much that they want to blow up our buildings? However, the families that were affected so much by these attacks deserve our compassion, just as do the innocent Iraqis who have been adversely affected due to Bush's War.

Robertson goes off on how terrorism isn't the enemy any more. It's us hard-working Americans that believe so strongly in the separation of church and state. Pat Robertson is, in effect declaring war on 49% of Americans. Good god.

I just hope the Bush Administration doesn't pre-emptively drop a WMD on me. But I guess I better be careful, as according to Robertson, I'm enemy #1 now.

I hope Pat keeps on ranting and raving and getting lots and lots of publicity - this is the type of thing that is driving even normal (non-super conservative bible thumpers) away and Bush's poll numbers down. And you are right, to them - we are the enemy. My sister's car was damaged because of her bumper sticker, a mild - Peace is Patriotic, too. Scary people.

Your secular, humanist opinions are terrorizing Pat. If you continue to be entitled to your opinions, the terrorists--you--have won.

Boo-frickin-hoo, Pat! You can't have it your way all the time so you throwing shit on national TV about how those that would oppose you are evil and must be smoted from the face of the earth. I heard that many of these judges that they are having the most trouble with were actually put into place by Reagan. He was the ring leader! Now that he's gone they have no leader and have gone all soft and started actually reading the law. For shame!
