George Bush the Flip-Flopper

Boy, George Bush is shur a flip-flopper. I'm just shocked to hear something like this coming for the ol' straight shooter who says what he means and means what he says.

George W. Bush, 4/9/99:

“Victory means exit strategy, and it’s important for the president to explain to us what the exit strategy is.”

And on the specific need for a timetable, here’s what Bush said then and what he says now:

George W. Bush, 6/5/99

“I think it’s also important for the president to lay out a timetable as to how long they will be involved and when they will be withdrawn.”

[ed. note: article originally ran in the Seattle Post-Intelligencer on 6/5/99]

VERSUS

George W. Bush, 6/24/05:

“It doesn’t make any sense to have a timetable. You know, if you give a timetable, you’re — you’re conceding too much to the enemy.”

You don't think, perhaps that all his mindless flip-flopping rhetoric is politically or financially motivated, do you?

You're on target here...I went back and found his acceptance speech at the 2000 Repub nomination - the one where he told us he 'intended to fix' things...here. We can't say he didn't warn us...

    Great link!

My favorite part of that acceptance speech is this

"To seniors in this country ... You earned your benefits, you made your plans, and President George W. Bush will keep the promise of Social Security ... no changes, no reductions, no way. "

    What a load of crap!

BTW, Alicia, have you recieved your I Love Karl Rove t-back yet? My readers are axiously awaiting the arrival of a pic and commentary from your husband.

If you look at my post on it, you'll see the most egregiously awful things highlighted - it's truly a little marvel of deception.
