The debate over corporal punishment in Arkansas continues.
It's the paddle and many adults experienced a generation when there
was no question about its use. You got in trouble with the teacher, you
got the wood. Simple.
Man, those were the good ol' days.
Searcy Public Schools paddled students at a rate of almost one out of
two during the 2003-2004 school year, according to data provided by the
Arkansas Department of Education (ADE).
